Nollywood Actor, Uzor Arukwe Opens Up On Family’s Reaction To His Career Choice (Video)

Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has spoken up on his family’s reaction to his career choice, revealing that his father is unwilling to accept that he is fully into acting.

The successful actor, popularly known for playing the role of Odogwu in Omoni Oboli’s ‘Love in every word’, explained that his father finds it hard to believe his chosen career.

While speaking in an interview with Chude Jideonwo, Arukwe disclosed that his mother was initially slow to accept his career path due to her husband’s reservations, but eventually came to terms with it.
“My father doesn’t know that I’m an actor; he has heard, but he doesn’t want to believe. My mum was slow to adapt because of her husband, but she later came around,” he said.

The 42-year-old actor is a notable face in the Nollywood industry, featuring in several popular films and productions. he revealed that prior to his success in the industry, he was jobless and broke after being fired from his previous job.
” I was fired… this is actually the first time I’m saying it publicly. Something happened in my department and I had to take the fall as the leader. That was the only job I had between when I was fired and when I got another job,” he said.

He recalled the moment things changed for him, stating that it came at the exact time of need.

“At that point, I was broke. I had no money,” he said.
