‘Come and eat’— Nigeria’s First Lady invites senators for dinner at Aso Rock amid recent bandit attacks

A fresh controversy erupted online after Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, invited senators to a dinner at the presidential villa, Aso Rock.
‎This comes amid the rising incidence of banditry in the northern states.
‎The senate president, Godswill Akpabio read the invitation to his fellow senators, announcing that the dinner is scheduled for Friday, 28 November 2025.
‎Furthermore, he joked that it’s “like a mother inviting her children.
The invitation arrives amid a surge in bandit killings.
It was recalled , gunmen stormed Christ Apostolic Church in Ekuru, Kwara State, on 18 November 2025, leaving a tragic aftermath.
The gunmen kidnapped 38 congregants, who were freed on Sunday, November 23 2025 after President Bola Tinubu announced their release on the microbiolgging platform, X (formerly Twitter).
