Nigerian singer Shola Allyson has broken silence about her lyrical choices, revealing the reasons she rarely references Jesus in her music.
During a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, Shola Allyson stated that she has never presented herself as a gospel singer.
‘I’m not a religious singer. As I am, I have never introduced myself as a gospel singer. My name is Shola Allyson. I’m a singer,” she said, explaining that her focus is on creating music inspired by her personal convictions rather than conforming to religious expectations.
Responding to critics who expected her to mention Jesus in her songs, Allyson emphasized that her music is not meant to serve as public relations for Him.
“Jesus did not instruct us to mention His name in songs, nor did Jesus ask us to do PR for Him,” she added.
