Davido’s Close Friend Reportedly Passes Away

Nigerian music star Davido has reportedly lost a close friend, Denisi, popularly known as Ego222.
News of his passing surfaced online after Joel Heugh Booysen shared a series of emotional posts on Instagram, reflecting on moments they shared together in South Africa. However, the exact circumstances surrounding Denisi’s death have not been officially disclosed, and Davido has yet to publicly address the reports.
In one of the posts, Booysen wrote:
“You all moved countries to dey with me for Southy. My surest guy. I just sorted Southy for us. You made many brothers in this short while in Southy. Cape Town be crying. Brother wake up abeg.”
Meanwhile, popular entertainment gossip blogger Cutie Juls also reacted to the news, claiming Denisi may have died from cardiac arrest.
According to the blogger, Ego reportedly collapsed and was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
“Ego has reportedly passed away a few hours ago. May his soul rest in peace. He apparently died as a result of cardiac issues. He collapsed and was pronounced dead at the hospital,” the post read.
The reported loss brings back memories of another tragedy in Davido’s circle. On June 29, 2021, the singer lost a close associate, Obama DMW, who died after suffering suspected heart failure.
Obama DMW, a music executive and founder of Obama Music Worldwide (OMW), an affiliate of Davido Music Worldwide, had reportedly experienced breathing difficulties before driving himself to a hospital in Lagos, where he was admitted and sadly passed away hours later.
