Pastor Bolaji Idowu To Support Unemployed Church Workers With Monthly Stipends (See Amount)

Bolaji Idowu, Lead Pastor of Harvesters International Christian Centre, has shared encouraging news with his congregation in a video that has gone viral online.
In the footage, Pastor Idowu spoke about a new support initiative aimed at helping church workers who are currently unemployed. He revealed that dedicated members serving the church would receive ₦50,000 per month for three months to help them manage financially until they find new employment.

The pastor explained that the program specifically targets members who are between jobs and is intended to relieve some of the financial pressure they may be experiencing. He added that beneficiaries would not undergo any screening once they register, emphasizing the church’s trust in its active members.

Pastor Idowu, who has previously faced public scrutiny in 2024 and was also involved in a past viral incident with singer Tiwa Savage, noted that the decision stems from compassion and faith in the congregation, rather than doubt or suspicion.
The announcement has generated diverse reactions online. Many praised the pastor, calling the initiative thoughtful and forward-thinking, with some drawing parallels to social welfare programs seen in other countries and noting the lack of similar systems in Nigeria.
However, some Nigerians criticized the government, arguing that caring for unemployed youths should not fall solely on religious organizations. A few also questioned the pastor’s intentions, wondering if the move was partly aimed at public recognition. Another group suggested that recipients should remain active in church duties during the three-month period, seeing it as a fair combination of support and responsibility.

Regardless of differing opinions, the video has sparked discussions about unemployment, social support, and the role of faith-based institutions in addressing societal challenges.
