A disturbing twist has emerged in the case of an FRSC officer and her young daughter who were declared missing earlier this month, as their bodies have been discovered in a suspected ritualists’ hideout in Osun State.
The victims, 39-year-old SRC Lasisi Funmilayo Oluwamayokun of the FRSC Abeokuta Unit, and her daughter Sewa, disappeared on Sunday, November 2, 2025, after leaving their residence at Obasanjo Hilltop Estate, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta. When relatives and colleagues failed to reach them, a missing-person report was lodged at the Kemta Divisional Police Headquarters on November 5.
The search ended tragically when their remains—bearing signs of mutilation—were reportedly recovered inside the home of a suspected herbalist in an undisclosed community in Osun State. The grim discovery was confirmed by a source close to the bereaved husband, placing Osun at the centre of what investigators believe may be a ritual killing.
Police have arrested the herbalist’s wife, but the principal suspect—her husband—has absconded, prompting an intensive manhunt across state lines. Detectives say early findings point to the herbalist’s possible involvement, though the full sequence of events is still under investigation.
The news has thrown the FRSC command in Abeokuta and residents of the victims’ estate into mourning, with many expressing shock at the horrific circumstances surrounding the deaths.
Authorities are appealing to the public for credible information that could lead to the capture of the fleeing suspect as investigations continue.
