Name Alex Ekubo called me before he died — Actor Kanayo O. Kanayo opens up

Veteran Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo has paid a heartfelt tribute to his late colleague, Alex Ekubo.
According to reports, a Service of Songs was held in honour of the actor on Wednesday, June 10, at the Monarch Event Centre in Lekki. The event drew a large turnout of celebrities and industry colleagues who gathered to celebrate his life and legacy.
Among those in attendance were Nancy Isime, IK Ogbonna, Funke Akindele, Mary Njoku, Chioma Akpotha, Yomi Casual, Ayo Makun, Ini Edo, Omoni Oboli, Ruth Kadiri, Kate Henshaw, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Mbong Amata, Stan Nze and his wife Blessing Obasi, Nkechi Blessing, Bambam, Funny Bone, Uti Nwachukwu, Chigul, and several others.
Sharing a video from the Service of Songs on his Instagram page, Kanayo offered a touching farewell message to the deceased. Reflecting on their relationship, he revealed that Alex was the first person to give him the nickname “Nwanyi Sacrifice.”
“Sleep well, brother,” Kanayo wrote. “The one who first called me Nwanyi Sacrifice.”
